Anniversary, that special time

Halloween!!!! I don't feel as though I've given it my usual appreciation this year. Although I've played it a wee low key this year, I'm still so stoked that not only is it the spookiest, lovliest time of year, it's also our ANNIVERSARY! 7 years. In Indiana Marriage statistic years, that's almost a lifetime. To me, it feels alternately like 6 months and forever. That's a very good thing.

And so...
To the man who told me he loved me before he ever kissed me. To the man who draws me funny pictures on notes he leaves me. To the man who hates bowling as much as I do. To the man who has to put his hand on my belly at night to fall asleep. To the man who has the smallest little handfuls of butt I've known. To the man who is my other half.....I love you baby. Happy Anniversary.

P.S. A big ol' Happy Birthday to my boys who I love sharing this holiday with! Happy Birthday Jzn & Lance!

-Channel 5 on the walkies is all the ladies in the Art Department which means we get to talk about the rock stars and no one can hear us.
-I convinced the lead singer to change the band name to "The Carrot Top Circle Jerks"
-Coffee at 3:00 a.m. is next to godliness.

More tomorrow!

Deep Throat

Zzzzzz.....not enough sleep......

You probably won't hear much from me on this blog for the next couple days. Tonight starts the filming of the video for "Academy Is..." that I've been commissioned for. It goes all weekend, every night until Monday morning, from 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. so that means today I will be up for 24 hours. I'm looking at it like a science experiment. What will this do to my fragile 27 year old mind piled on top of a cold and little sleep already! Weee! I brought a blanket and a chair and surely my walkie talkie will wake me up if they need me come about 4:00 a.m.

I'm actually quite stoked though. The project is going to look great and everyone keeps feeding my ego, so that makes me a happy Prop Master. I'll update with pics like always as soon as I can on Monday.

Monday is our Anniversary and we're going out to eat at this swanky vegetarian place to celebrate, probably followed by a nap. But that's okay, I loves me some cuddling. theMan surprised me with some gourmet cooking classes as a gift yesterday for my gift. I love to cook and I'm stoked that I can now take classes on "knife skills" and "glazing". Hopefully they will show me how to properly mince herbs and gut a punk trying to mug me in an alley both with a serated bread knife! I think my first class is going to be the Vegetarian Thanksgiving one followed by a 2 hour wine tasting. I don't know how any of that could be a bad time, no?

Tuesday my mom and Ma-maw are coming up and my pals are all going out to eat to celebrate Moo's birthday and my last chance for eating for a couple days since my surgery is set for Wednesday. I'm not nervous just yet about the surgery. I think the film is a nice distraction. theMan is equipped with a camera so expect plenty of gnarly hospital pics of me with tubes coming out my throat! Woo hoo!

My pal Jen came through her first round of chemo okay. As okay as you can get when going through chemo. Keep wishing her luck at her site. She's a trooper but this would be tough for even the strongest of ladies.

So yea, I'll try to write, but if you don't hear from me, check back on Tuesday night or Friday when I get out of the hospital.

FUCK YEA!

GO SOX!!!!!

CHICAGO in da' HIZ-OUSE!

(mostly I'm just stoked to see Bush Sr.'s look of disappointment behind home plate. Hee hee)

It's been awhile

Sorry I've been gone for a couple days. It's not you, it's me. Really.

Last night I went and worked on the film set until at least 11:30 p.m. Everyone really loved the furniture I designed (and theMan helped build) so much that I think they are upping my pay!!! Jen K. told them I should get a little more for my effort (the big sweetie) so cross your fingers. The Mistress household could use the cash. I'm still not 100% sure how I'm going to get through being up for 24 hours on Friday but I'll summon all my All-Night Skate days and do my best. The fact that I slept on the couch a little through the party we attended on Saturday is not making the predictions bright though. I had a friend once that said my super powers if I were in a comic would be sleeping through anything.

In fact, one time I was asleep on the couch while this band played in our basement and the cops were called on them for noise violation. The whole time I'm passed out on the couch. I can sleep anywhere, anytime and in anything. So about 2:00 a.m. on Friday should find me curled up in some corner of this rubber making factory snoozing away while the band plays and the cameras roll.

The film is coming along beautifully though. I have one more chair designed by moi that will be dropped off Friday. It's my own creation so I'm sorta nervous. Expect a ton of pics whenever the hell I drag my carcass out of bed next week.

It's also my buds Jzn and Lance's birthday on Monday, plus Stellazilla and our 7th Anniversary! What a way to spend Halloween! I think we're going to eat at this swanky vegetarian restaurant and bask in the glow of 7 years of warm nights and lazy Saturday mornings together.

On a more serious note, tomorrow my bud Jen starts her first round of chemo. Maybe you all could go over there and wish her well, eh? Give her a little internet smooching? I'm nervous for her, although I know she will get through it with her typical tough as nails personality. Love you Jen, take it easy on yourself tomorrow night!

So enjoy!

Fun Filming Fanatics

I forgot to mention to you all that I got a lovely paying gig doing Prop Master work (and helping with the Art Department) on the Academy Is... music video filming next weekend. The cool part is that MTV Europe has already picked up the video for distribution so it will actually been seen by a large group of people!?! Can you believe it?

One of the frustrating things about doing films is never seeing the finished product when it's complete. So this will be a nice pay-off. However, I got word last night that the film shoot is Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. If anyone has an IV rig to sell me I think I'm going to fill it with espresso and hope for the best.

The things we do for art...and well, $300.

After permission from her husband I've posted a picture of one of the hottest moms I know in the clothes she bought up here in Chi-town.

Give her some love because she brought a load of it with her when she came to visit this weekend.

(Edited to add: I should note that organic eating, 2 kids and being 38 in a week will make you look this amazing too. You're a hottie Anita! I'm proud of ya!)

(I've also included a pic of the best showerhead in the world, thanks to the Eastons.)

All about me

1. Name someone with the same birthday as you.
Patrick Swayze and Christian Slater...thank you Teen Beat Magazine.
2. Where was your first kiss?
During fireworks with some Heimbach kid up in his treehouse. He kissed me then another girl right next to me. My first threesome! My first tongue kiss was while running the streets of Ladoga I traded saliva with Thomas Bryant. Then me and my best friend went back to her house and talked about it until 3 a.m. and tried to repeat the sensation by curling our tongues backwards and then giggling.
3. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property?
Not that I know of.
4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex?
Yes, I have a bad reaction to anyone hitting me in the head. Ask my husband. Even if it’s on accident or when throwing a rolled up ball of socks across a room at me while I’m not looking seems like a good idea at the time. You’ll get choked.
5. Have you ever sang in front of a large number of people?
Yes, school musicals 3 years. Sometimes I get drunk and sing rap songs. Hey, it happens?
6. What's the first thing you notice about the preferred sex?
Hands, shoes, hair and ass. In that order.
7. What really turns you on?
Confident, funny, creative M-E-N.
8. What do you order at Starbucks?
Skim Grande Chai or Mocha Light Frapp. If I’m feeling thin.
9. What is your biggest mistake?
I'm trying to live my life and not make mistakes. If I did something I wish I had done differently, I look at it in a way in which I did what I could given the situation at the time. Learn from it, you know all that jazz.
10. Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose?
Besides tattoos and piercings, no.
11. Say something totally random about yourself.
I have a fantasy of singing in a cafe while my friend Jordan plays guitar and everyone is shocked at how good I am.
12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
No, except someone once mentioned my jawline makes me seem like a good person to play a witch in the Wizard of Oz.
13. Do you still watch kiddy movies or tv shows?
No, I sure don’t. The last one I watched was Boom-bah upside down after waking from an all night drunk fest. I puked and vowed to stay away from infant television programming.
14. Did you have braces?
Yes, still have retainers.
15. Are you comfortable with your height?
Yes, and I thank god for it every time I put something very fatty into my mouth.
16. What is the most romantic thing someone of the opposite sex has done for you?
When my husband married me on Halloween because it was exactly what we wanted.
17. When do you know it's love?
When the quiz in this month’s COSMO tells me.
18. Do you speak any other languages?
Some Spanish but who doesn’t?
19. Have you ever been to a tanning salon?
Yes, sadly, when I was a teenager I got one of the package deals. But I made it fun because I’d jerk off while in there because it was only place I felt alone enough. (Sorry family members who read this, but it’s the price you pay for having a big family.)
20. What magazines do you read?
Men’s & Women’s Health, Organic Style, People (I’m a gossip whore), and Concious Choice.
21. Have you ever ridden in a limo?
Yup, several times.
22. Has anyone you were really close to passed away?
Jesus....there aren’t enough fingers to count them on.
23. Do you watch mtv?
No, we don’t have cable any longer thankfully. One of the better decisions of my life.
24. What's something that really annoys you?
Unfriendly people, competitive women when it’s unnecessary and people who are rude to those I love.
25. What's something you really like?
Oral sex. What? Oh, you probably mean like “reading” or “walks on the beach” right? Well, throw in oral sex and I’ll enjoy those too.
26. Do you like Michael Jackson?
I like him when he’s singing and not looking me in the eyes.
27. Can you dance?
YES! I love it. I love being in a big sweaty group dancing and I love love love dancing in my underpants when nobody is home.
28. What's the latest you have ever stayed up?
2 days and I saw an Indian in full head dress standing by the road by my house. Time to go to bed!
29. Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room?
Nope
30. Do you actually read these when other people fill them out?
Yes, I’m addicted to these things.

Go ahead...fill it out yourself and send me the link.

Crush

Sometimes I like to put on my blog little crushes I've developed for people I'll never meet in the "real world." Lately, I think I've been watching too much BBC. You see, I've developed a little crush on a certain member of the Young Ones. It's not who you'd probably expect, but I can't help it. I have a thing for Vyvyan Bastard (Adrian Edmondson).

He's cute, right? Plus, he aged well.

And with the addition of "The Comic Strip" into our video viewing library courtesy of Intuitive Cat, I get to see him as more than just Vyvyn Bastard. Then to find out he actually married another BBC star I have always had a crush on, Jennifer Saunders. Well, it makes me want to be the oreo filling in their comedy sandwich.

See girls really do like a sense of humor in a man! Now you know. Anyone else want to confess a weird crush?

Go ahead, google "failure" and laugh your ass off at the top search result regarding it.

Gone so long

Wow, this might be the longest I've been away from said bloggy goodness. I do have much to discuss with you all, I swear. For instance, the Eastons were here this weekend with their adorable kiddies. They came, they shopped, they made me ovulate and they left all in a 2 day period. In their wake they left a new detachable shower head with a pictorial guide on what to do with it should I invite any hot brunette lesbians over. Bless them.

Secondly, I got a film job doing a music video and it's a paid gig. I'm Prop Master again on this one and it's due to shoot in 2 weeks. Bring on the toolbox!

Thirdly, my friend Jennifer is holding up quite nicely with all the cancer related business. Her lymph nodes are clear and they got most/all of the cancer out of her breasts. Now it's just on to aggressive treatment to kill any remaining cells that might be hiding out elsewhere. Excuse me while I take a moment to talk directly to the cancer now....(Taps on microphone) "Um, Cancer. You've fucked with the wrong girl this time buddy. So get out of there. You dont' have to go home, but you can't stay here. Chairs are going on the tables and the lights are out man. Get a move on."

I think that about sums it up so far. I'll try to be better about posting and I even have some pictures for you. Thanks for hanging in there.

THANK YOU DIETY!

She's clear! Out of the 5 lymph nodes they tested, they were all clear. A few more tests to go but so far they've given her a rating of Stage 1. The lowest form short of Stage 0.

I'll let her tell the rest of the story, but I'm so happy I'm crying at work! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

GWO 10 & Sis's Birthday Party

IMG_3331
Originally uploaded by MizVoid.
First things first, I need you to spend a little of your collective good karma thinking about my GWO Sister tomorrow when she goes for her surgery to test her lymph nodes for cancer. She needs the lovin' so make me proud.

Secondly, I had yet another BAD ASS GWO! This time it was held in Chicago. For record keeping purposes, here is an account of what went down:

Friday: Met theMan & Erica at the train stop and we went and picked up Jen at the airport. We got her luggage before we found her but she was happy to be on the ground and we were all happy to be back together. We got in the car and of course talked non-stop until we got home. Sis had made us homemade pizzas and pasta leftovers from work, so we ate up and sat around and talked more. theMan chaufferred us to the local bakery to load up on cakes and chocolate and before long we were conked out for the night.

Saturday: We got up early, ate breakfast at Square Kitchen, talked some more and then rode the train downtown to State Street for shopping. I think this was the first GWO where we didn't need a loan officer to handle our debt from shopping. It was still fun though. We even helped Jennifer figure out how to tie a scarf at Filene's when we made a mess of their silk scarf collection! (See Flickr for proof) After shopping we stopped at Garcia's for the largest burritos and cokes on the planet and the conversation quickly turned to sex talk. One of our favorites. After eating I had set up the girls with a surprise full body one hour massage while I cooked for the party. Shelby the massage goddess made them both look like they were drunk after they emerged from the table. We cooked a HUGE feast for Jamie's party, complete with mushroom alfredo pumpkin tortellinis, cheese ravioli, baked breaded chicken and turkey meatballs made from scratch. Nothing is too good for my sister! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS!

People started to arrive and Jen & I decided to polish off a bottle of wine by ourselves. Everyone seemed to have a good time, although it ended pretty early. Us GWO Girls couldn't stay awake any longer so while people partied in the living room, we passed out all cuddled up in our bed and poor theMan had to sleep in the recliner. It was nice to be close to my girlies though.

Sunday: We woke up and mingled around a bit. I made some omelets and toast for the girlies and we headed out to get our pedicures. Pedicures are AWESOME. I used my gift certificate theMan got me for my birthday and I plan on going back at least every couple of months. The lady talked us into an eyebrow waxing too. My first and let me tell you...that FUCKING HURTS. I will probably not sign up for a brazillian anytime soon. Although my eyebrows look fairly hot now. Poor Erica though had a reaction and we all walked around with red foreheads for a bit, hers lasting the longest.

Later we tried to go to a wig store to find Jennifer a wig for when the chemo starts, but it was closed. So we opted for a jaunt around Evanston and to see our chick flick, "In Her Shoes". That turned out to be a great movie, not necessarily even a chick flick. I don't even think that's a good term....it just showed women interacting with each other. I don't think we gotta have a name like chick flick to downgrade it or there should be names like "dick flick" for filims like Die Hard, etc.

After the film we met the roomies for Thai food. On our way out of the restaurant though, the residents of my fair city decided to send Erica a warm welcome by throwing an egg at her from a passing car. We laughed about it thankfully and chalked it up to her Clomid attracting eggs, but still. How shitty was that?

Later that night Earth came by with the coolest freaking gift for us as well as Sis's birthday present. 2 Halloween items straight from New York delivered in his art truck with his big Scottish hands and big Scottish heart. What a sweetie.

Monday morning we were awakened at 5:00 a.m. by the upstairs neighbor when they decided to use a hammer for 20 solid minutes. Let me tell you, I was so mad I nearly lost my mind. I banged on their back door, the front door and even called them but they never answered. I was so flabbergasted that they had managed to wake up 5 people at 5:00 a.m. that I put a sock on a broom and beat it on the ceiling. That finally stopped them but of course, I needed to get revenge. Today I left wet towels in the washer during their laundry time all....damn....day. Later when we went to the store we found the box to what I assume they were putting together this morning by the trashcan so I drug the box to the middle of their parking space in the garage. Hopefully when that stupid bitch had to get out of her car to move the box, she was more than a little inconvenienced.

At a more reasonable time, we got up and took the girls to their prospective returning points. Even got a good therapeutic bitch fest in with Erica on the way home about our parents.

Of course we talked about Jen having cancer, and there was sad overtone for me this weekend. We cried and hugged and maybe we even hugged her a little more than usual this time. But I think it was a good distraction, a way to let off steam and laugh a lot in the middle of all this crap heaped on them. These girls mean the world to me, I realize it every time we talk, email or get together. I'm not letting them get away from me either. These GWO's are more than a reason to help the local economy. They need to occur to keep our sanity.

The waiting is driving me mad

I've got one of the members of GWO sitting at my house, one of the other ones about to board a plane to come here, I've got 2 pounds of chicken, meatballs and pasta cooling in the fridge and an entire weekend PACKED full of fun.

Ask me if I'm not ready to get the hell out of this office!?!?!? I just know the L will be slow getting home....

It's my sis's birthday tomorrow...show her some love in the comments section.

Boring

My tattoo is going to look awful because I can’t quit picking at the scabbies. I keep saying, well if it’s already loose and I grab at it, it sorta is like it fell off, not that I picked it. Like my skin has a loophole in the definition of picking scabs.

After a flurry of work, I’m now back to sitting at my desk and hitting “refresh” on www.fark.com. Still beats getting yelled at by old drunk priest on a daily basis.

Countdown to GWO and my sister's birthday is now at 2 days…tick tock tick tock. Come on Friday.

This may go down in Just My Blog history as the most boring post ever written.

Estrogen

There might have been a significant decrease in the nation's estrogen supply last night. You see, our house might have been using more than our rationed amount.

Last night we watched Steel Magnolias, Girl Interrupted and Jerry McGuire while theMan sat by on his laptop looking up every couple of hours to shake his head.

"Just the other day I saw Drum Eatington at the Piggly Wiggly and I smiled at the son of a bitch, for I couldn't help myself!"

Things are still going exceedingly shitty in the GWO neck of the woods in regards to friends and medical situations. It just seems to get more serious with every appointment she goes too. Ugh. She's so strong though, god damn there should be Oscars for being lovely.

My blood tests went off without a hitch. My GP doctor does kick ass though. He asked about my new tattoo and had used the same freaking tattoo artist! Plus, he ran more tests on me that my surgeon didn't run, i.e. checking my thyroid levels since that is the fucking gland I'm getting removed. He's confirmed that I will need to be on medication for the rest of my life, and looked at me weird when I said the surgeon didn't think so. I've started a list of questions to ask at my appointment on Friday. I'm starting to feel like I'm not with the best of surgeons and doctors before this current GP. So after 7 vials of blood, I left feeling queasy but still humble by the small amount of medical treatment I'll receive compared to my pal Jennifer.

Because we're all anal retentive girls, we've started a schedule and calendar in MS Word to coordinate visits, food drop offs and childcare for her. Hee hee, thank god she is friends with 2 Administrative Assistants and a Teacher. We got this scheduling stuff down baby! Oh and the fact that we are pushy. I don't think she could stop us at this point. So I need your help...anyone out there have good recipes of food that freezes well or at least will last a few days that is easy to reheat? Send them to: mizfoyblog at yahoo.com.

Marching on....

Sunday night melancholy

Some things just lose all meaning and importance when there are people that you care about who are hurting. People that you care about so much that you can feel it taking over a part of your soul when you think about what they mean to you. It's, fittingly enough, Breast Cancer Awareness Month this month. I also heard it's Mental Health Awareness Month, which is also incredibly fitting. I feel like we're all going crazy and all that's holding it together is each other quite honestly.

These girls, as well as the rest of my friends and family, they mean my life to me. There is nothing that makes me more happy than my friends and family within a hug's reach, a phone call away or at the receiving end of a string of emails during the day. And right now some of them are going through some heavy shit. Shit that makes me not even able to comprehend what it would be like to be going through it. To think about these people that I hold so dear in so much fear and pain and unsettled crapiness...I can't process it. I tried to read Jen's post about her prognosis and I couldn't finish it. I kept scanning for the good news or the "oh, it's not that bad" part. It never came.

I know this isn't about me, but all I can tell you about is what I'm going through. I feel helpless. I feel like there isn't anything I can do to fix this. I know just being her friend and taking care of her and her family is what she really needs, but I just want to go in there and make it better. Same with E. and what she's going through. I try my hardest not to say all the "this is God's plan" blah blah blah and I know I do what she needs me to do but still. I want to fix it. I sorta feel like I just watched my house explode and I can't do anything but go to sleep in delusion on the sidewalk and expect to wake up to find it's back there. It won't ever be back there. It'll have to be a new house, right?

Since Matt died I've given up on worrying about my career and money and my future for a bit. Thankfully, like most ways in my life, my job has fallen into place and I don't have to worry about it anymore. Maybe it was the right time for a job that I don't hate to come along. Sure I think about it, but what I really want to work on right now is my relationships. My family, my friends who are my family and my marriage.

I've been having trouble relaxing lately. I find I'm always running here and there, I can't just sit and be still. theMan said this to me the other day. Last night I finally made myself pass out at 10:00 p.m. because I was so restless. I just have this sense of time slipping away now. So much to do, etc.

Honestly I haven't given a ton of thought about my surgery coming up. I feel selfish even worrying about it even though I know I have the right. I have bloodwork tomorrow morning at 2 separate spots. I meet with my surgeon again Friday to get the scoop on what happens when you ride on a single thyroid cylinder. I suppose I should be pissed that no one noticed this sooner since I had it tested twice over the past 3 years. I hope it hasn't done irreperable damage, but I guess I've just adopted my "fuck it" attitude. I just want to be well enough to travel the following weekend. There is a certain pudgy monkey that needs some Aunt Kitten time so her momma can rest.

God damn it. I love these girls, I love all my friends and family so much it completely swallows me. I cannot take anymore loss. Times like these makes my "shit happens" spirituality really uncomforting. So whoever is pulling the "shit" switch up in the big blue sky, how about you take a fucking coffee break for a few years, eh?
